Ian Ssezibwa

Ian Ssezibwa is a Legal Assistant at a leading law firm in Uganda, working in the Energy and Infrastructure department. He specializes in energy, mining, and infrastructure law, with a wealth of experience advising on matters in the energy sector with a focus on infrastructure development.

He has worked on a wide variety of matters involving renewable energy projects and the financing of such projects, including land acquisitions for large infrastructure projects and implementation of resettlement action plans. He also has experience in due diligence and regulatory compliance, drafting land acquisition documents, carrying out searches, acquisition of statutory approvals, and processing titles for rights of way acquired. He has participated in drafting and reviewing agreements, disclosure documents, and sale agreements to ensure adherence to proper form, process, and regulatory regimes at both national and international levels.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University Kampala and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Uganda. He is a member of the Uganda Law Society.
