Daniel Gantungo

Daniel Gantungo is the Head of Energy & Infrastructure at AF Mpanga (Bowmans Uganda). His work involves a broad range of commercial and corporate advisory services in energy, oil and gas, mining, mergers and acquisitions in the energy sector, taxation, dispute resolution, and other facets of investment and business consulting for both local and international clients.

He has been a key advisor to market leaders in Uganda's nascent oil and gas industry, participating in negotiations for concessions and commenting on bills placed before parliament. IFLR1000's Financial and Corporate Guide rated him as a Rising Star for M&A in 2018 and 2019 and as a Highly Regarded Lawyer in Uganda in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

Prior to joining AF Mpanga, he was a State Attorney in Uganda's Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs/Attorney General's Chamber. He has also worked in the departments of Energy and Infrastructure and Dispute Resolution at King & Wood Mallesons LLP (formerly SJ Berwin), London, under the International Lawyers for Africa (ILFA) programme, and has undertaken mini-pupillage training with Keating Chambers, London.

He holds an LLB from Makerere University and an LLM (Oil and Gas) from the University of Aberdeen.
