Agatha Etyang

Agatha Etyang is a Senior Associate in the Corporate and Commercial Practice at Dentons in Uganda, specialising in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and corporate advisory. She has cultivated vast experience in handling corporate and commercial matters, with a wide array of transactions including project development, financing, real estate, intellectual property, restructuring, insolvency and bankruptcy, and venture technology.

Agatha has advised the Uganda Development Corporation on a US$47 million joint venture for the development of a state-of-the-art conference facility; Yamaha Motor Co., Limited on a multi-jurisdictional Series 2 investment valued at US$3 million and on the acquisition of a local auto delivery company; a global retailer on the acquisition of business assets of an Africa-based supermarket business; ALP Management Kenya on the acquisition of real property for warehouses worth US$15 million; and De Heus Animal Nutrition BV on the set-up and operationalisation of a first-of-its-kind manufacturing plant in East and Central Africa. She has also supported voluntary liquidation and cross-border insolvency matters.

Agatha holds an LL.B from Makerere University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Kampala. She was a Government of Uganda Academic Merit Scholarship recipient and a nominee for the Rising Star Award at the Uganda Law Society in 2021.
