Tracy Kakongi

Tracy Kakongi is a Senior Associate at ENS in Uganda, specialising in corporate and commercial law and intellectual property law. She advises clients on M&A processes, due diligence investigations, contract drafting and negotiation, and regulatory compliance across various industries including banking, energy, agriculture, food and beverage, infrastructure, and the health sector.

She has acted for and advised local and foreign clients on legal, regulatory, and transactional corporate issues, assisting companies in setting up and doing business in Uganda. Her intellectual property practice includes the registration of trade marks, industrial designs, patents and copyrights, as well as trade mark searches, filing and prosecution, maintenance, assignments, renewals, and general management of trade mark portfolios.

Tracy holds an LL.B (Honours) from Makerere University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre. She is admitted as an advocate of the High Court of Uganda.

She is recognised by IFLR1000 as a Rising Star (Uganda) for Financial and Corporate work (2021‑2025) and is listed in The Legal 500 EMEA (2026). She is a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society.
