Tendo Lubwama

Tendo Lubwama is an Associate | Transactions & Advisory at K&K Advocates, focusing on Oil and Gas Law. His practice is shaped by an uncommon combination of rigorous legal training and hands-on finance experience, having previously worked as a Financial and Corporate Advisory Analyst at African Alliance Uganda Limited.

Tendo advises across the full oil and gas value chain — from upstream exploration and production through to midstream and downstream operations — as well as on energy financing, infrastructure projects, and major commercial transactions in Uganda. His work includes the drafting and negotiation of production sharing agreements, petroleum supply and crude oil marketing agreements, implementation agreements, and EPC contracts, with particular attention to local content requirements, licensing, and sector-specific regulatory frameworks.

Beyond energy, he advises on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, compliance, and the full range of banking and finance matters, bringing careful due diligence and contract analysis to each mandate.

Tendo also has substantial litigation and arbitration experience, having appeared before the High Court and superior appellate courts in Uganda, and has developed focused arbitration expertise in applications to enforce arbitral awards, obtain interim relief prior to arbitration, and set aside awards where grounds exist. He holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Kent, a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, and a Certificate in Introduction to Securities and Investment (International) from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. He is a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society.
