Dorothy N. Kabugo

Dorothy N. Kabugo is a Partner in the Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure team with over 21 years of experience in corporate commercial law. Her primary practice area is Oil and Gas Law.

She is highly skilled in handling commercial transactions, including advising on corporate structuring, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, and joint operating agreements.

She has previously served as Managing Partner at DN Kabugo Advocates and as Company Secretary on a number of Boards. She is a member of the Natural Resources Audit Committee of the Ministry of Finance, Planning & Economic Development, a member of the Governing Council of the Buganda Royal Institute of Business and Technical Education, and a member of the Board of Governors of Gayaza High School.

She is a Rotarian, a legal researcher and a human rights defender. She has worked with the Uganda Human Rights Commission and the Foundation for Human Rights Initiative, and is a member of the Professional Development Committee at the Uganda Law Society. She is also an entrepreneur, investment advisor, corporate governance specialist and a firm believer in the development of National Content.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Makerere University, a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, and an LLM in Oil & Gas from Uganda Christian University, Mukono.
