William Kasozi

William Kasozi is Head of Banking & Finance at AF Mpanga, focusing on Banking and Finance Law. He has over 20 years PQE in Banking and Finance Law and practice.

He has advised on numerous transactions in project finance, banking and finance, banking regulatory, syndicated lending, mergers and corporate acquisitions, capital markets and corporate advisory work. In addition to advisory work, he has been lead counsel in various big-ticket banking litigation disputes acting for several banking clients with a proven track record of success.

William is a licensed insolvency practitioner with experience in restructuring and reorganisations, liquidations, and asset disposals, recovery and insolvency. He also provides regulatory, project finance and private equity advice.

He has significant experience in law firm management, having served as managing partner of the firm for nine years until 2019, and has leadership experience in corporate governance, having served as board secretary and director on several boards in the financial sector. He holds an LLB (Hons) from Makerere University and an LL.M in European & International Trade Law from the University of Leicester. He is consistently ranked by Chambers and Partners, including Band 2 in 2020.
