Prisca Nagujja

Prisca Nagujja is a Legal Associate in the Banking and Finance team at ALN Uganda | MMAKS Advocates, specialising in banking and finance law, project finance, mergers and acquisitions, and data protection and privacy. She advises international finance parties and local project companies on complex financing transactions, particularly in the power sector, and has significant experience in corporate law, private equity, and regulatory compliance.

She has advised finance parties on the proposed financing of the Achwa Hydro Power Plant (43 MW), the Kikagati Hydro Power Plant (13 MW), and the refinancing of the Bugoye Hydro Power Plant (16 MW). She has also advised Norsad Capital Limited on a USD 7.5 million financing of Watu Credit Uganda Limited, and advised KfW on the financing of Muzizi Hydro Power Project. She has worked on multiple bank financing transactions for KCB Bank Uganda, Absa Bank Uganda, Diamond Trust Bank, and dfcu Bank Uganda, and advised on financing for JUMO, Seacom Limited, and the East African Development Bank. In the private equity and M&A space, she has advised Softbank Group Corp on an acquisition in Uganda, classM France on the acquisition of shares in Pure Grow Africa Limited, and Biyinzika Enterprises Limited on the sale of assets to a private equity fund. She has also advised Accenture, Toyota Tsusho, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Standard Chartered Group on data protection and privacy compliance in Uganda.

Prisca holds an LL.B (Hons) from Makerere University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Uganda. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society. She was recognised as a Rising Star in the IFLR 2021 Rankings.
