Norman Mulira

Norman Mulira is an Associate in the Corporate Advisory team, specialising in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity, corporate finance, and general corporate and commercial advisory. He advises domestic and international clients on a wide range of transactions, including M&A, private equity investments, capital markets, corporate restructurings, insolvency, and projects and infrastructure across sectors such as energy, mining, insurance, communications, and gaming and betting.

He has advised an FTSE 100 company on the acquisition of a stake in a sports betting and gaming company in Uganda, advised on the acquisition of a majority stake in a microfinance institution, and advised on the divesture of a majority shareholder’s interest in an entity holding the national lottery licence. He has also assisted on the proposed acquisition of a majority stake by Dentsu Aegis Network in a leading communications company, and advised on a shareholders’ dispute in a gold mining company worth approximately USD 500,000. He also advises businesses on data protection and privacy compliance, and has represented major creditors in the administration of Uganda Telecom Limited and Vodafone Uganda.

He holds an Upper-Second Class LL.B (Hons) from Uganda Christian University, Mukono and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Uganda. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society.
