Jet John Tumwebaze

Jet John Tumwebaze is a Partner at Kampala Associated Advocates and a member of the firm's Litigation Department, specialising in Dispute Resolution, Employment and Labour Law, Banking and Finance, and Property and Land Conveyancing. He has been a practicing advocate for over 18 years and has established himself as a formidable litigator and skilled negotiator.

He led the debt collection team responsible for Umeme's debt, recovering over UGX 50 billion and managing over 900 cases. He represented Tullow Oil Uganda Limited in the acquisition of land in the Albertine Graben during the 3D seismic oil exploration exercise and led negotiations with project affected persons. He also represented the Uganda National Roads Authority in land disputes relating to the construction of major roads, and has represented Standard Chartered Bank and Centenary Bank in numerous litigation and debt recovery matters. He is part of the team defending a client in Uganda's largest banking and finance litigation worth over USD 120 million under the Financial Institutions Act. He has also represented clients in land disputes, including a case worth over UGX 10 billion for Kakira Sugar Limited, and represented the Acholi war claimants in a compensation claim against the Government of Uganda, resulting in an award of over UGX 10 billion.

He holds an LL.B from Makerere University and has been a practicing advocate for over 18 years. He is a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society.
