Jane Francis Ilego

Jane Francis Ilego is an Associate at Dentons in Uganda, supporting the Employment Law, Construction Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice groups. She advises both national and international clients on employment disputes, legal and tax compliance at the point of onboarding and termination, and is experienced in preparing and reviewing employment contracts to ensure compliance with Uganda's national employment laws.

Jane Francis has advised on construction-related claims and a US$2 million arbitral claim; advised Kiira Motors Corporation on aspects of payment in lieu of notice; advised Schneider Electric on employment matters and reviewed employment contracts for compliance; represented the Law Development Centre in a labour dispute before the Industrial Court; and advised PricewaterhouseCoopers on onboarding and termination processes. She also advises on restructuring processes and the termination of fixed-term contracts for various clients.

Jane Francis holds an LL.B from Makerere University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Kampala. She was awarded the Chief Justice Prize for emerging as the overall best in the bar course 2020/2021 by the Office of the Chief Justice of the Republic of Uganda.
