Emmanuel Tumuhaise

Emmanuel Tumuhaise is a Senior Associate in the firm's Tax Advisory Law and Corporate & Financial Advisory practices, based in Uganda. He has over 7 years of experience advising clients in complex projects and project finance transactions, public-private partnerships, and energy. He conducts and manages due diligence exercises, drafts and negotiates key transaction documents, and prepares merger control applications and post-acquisition advisory.

Mr. Tumuhaise has extensive experience in financial advisory on acquisitions, project and asset finance, and has advised corporations, financial sponsors, and financial institutions across a wide spectrum of domestic and cross-border lending. He is a registered tax agent and provides practical advisory services to multinational and local companies on managing the impact of tax laws and regulations on their operations. He has strong relationships with the Uganda Revenue Authority and has led discussions on lingering tax review and investigation issues, also facilitating tax training programs for clients and tax practitioners.

Prior to joining Ortus Advocates, he worked with a leading Big Four audit and accounting firm, where he was responsible for advising clients on legal, domestic, and international tax concerns.
