Flavia Suubo

Flavia Suubo is a Senior Associate in the Corporate Advisory team, specialising in Tax Law and mergers and acquisitions. She advises clients on income tax, value added tax, withholding tax, rental tax, and represents them before the Tax Appeals Tribunal. She also advises on corporate restructurings, capital markets, private equity, and oil and gas transactions across sectors including banking, insurance, telecommunications, gaming and betting, and food and beverages.

She has acted for Samsung Electronics East Africa Limited in a UGX 1.7 billion VAT dispute before the Tax Appeals Tribunal, and for a sports betting company in a UGX 18.7 billion withholding tax dispute. She has advised on tax matters arising from land acquisitions, including estate distributions and gifts inter vivos. In the corporate space, she has advised Leapfrog Strategic African Investments on its acquisition of a majority stake in ICEA Lion Group, Arise BV on its acquisition of shares in DFCU Limited, and FMO on its divestiture from Bank of Africa Uganda Limited.

Flavia holds an LL.M in International Business Law (with Distinction) from the University of Liverpool, an LL.B from Makerere University, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Uganda. She previously worked as a Tax Consultant and Tax Associate at Deloitte Uganda Limited for over four years. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society.
