Zulaika Mirembe Kasajja

Zulaika Mirembe Kasajja is a Partner at Kampala Associated Advocates (KAA), specialising in Telecommunications Law, media and technology law, banking and finance, oil and gas, energy and infrastructure, mining, and corporate transactions. She advises clients on regulatory compliance, telecommunications licensing, corporate governance, and complex commercial transactions across multiple sectors in Uganda and Africa.

She has conducted a gap analysis of Uganda's ICT legal and regulatory framework, reviewed the telecommunications licensing framework, and advised on the licence renewal of a leading telecommunications operator. She has also advised on a share purchase transaction worth over USD 45 million for the acquisition of a financial institution, an asset purchase transaction worth over USD 23 million for the acquisition of a telecommunications company, the procurement of one of Uganda's largest mineral licences (worth over USD 200 million), and a syndicated loan facility worth over Euro 219 million to a sovereign state. She also sits on the board of the Uganda National Oil Company and has served as company secretary for numerous boards across various sectors.

Zulaika holds an LL.B from Makerere University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre. She is a graduate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (UK) and has completed the Leadership Development Female Future Program on Board Competence. She is a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society.
