William Wepukhulu

William Wepukhulu is a Senior Associate at Dentons in Uganda, specialising in corporate law, banking and finance, energy and natural resources, and TMT. He advises investors and businesses on domestic and multi‑jurisdictional transactions, including financings, projects, and corporate and regulatory compliance across fintech, insurance, and renewable energy sectors.

William has advised the Uganda Development Corporation on a US$47 million joint venture for the development of a state‑of‑the‑art conference facility; NIC Holdings on a UGX 707,889,859 bonus issue of shares listed on the Uganda Securities Exchange; St. Mary's Hospital, Lacor, on reorganising its ownership and management structure and realigning its tax structure; a leading global bank as lead arranger of a €180 million loan facility to the Government of Uganda through Murabaha contracts; and a leading regional financial institution on the 100% acquisition of a Tier 3 financial institution in Uganda. He also conducted a mid‑level due diligence on a ride‑hailing application operator, leading to a Series 2 investment valued at US$3 million.

William was nominated as "Rising Star of the Year" by the Uganda Law Society in 2023. He is a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East Africa Law Society.
