Gladys Namata Kikule

Gladys Namata Kikule is an Associate in the Corporate Advisory team at MMAKS Advocates | ALN Uganda, specialising in corporate governance, complex commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, project finance and infrastructure financing, mergers and acquisitions, and general legal advisory.

She has acted as part of the company secretarial team of dfcu Limited, a listed company on the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE), advising on compliance with corporate governance requirements, the Capital Markets Authority, and the Uganda Registration Services Bureau. She undertook a field corporate governance audit for Uganda Development Bank, reviewing board and committee meeting minutes over a five‑year period. She has also provided company secretarial support to Old Mutual Life Assurance Uganda and Uganda Energy Credit Capitalisation Company Limited, and advised Yunus Social Business on board structuring and governance for its investee social enterprises. She has advised Uganda Development Corporation on investments in the coffee and mining sectors valued at over UGX 1 Billion, and the Insurance Training College on its acquisition of a new home valued at over UGX 1 Billion. She also routinely advises on transactional documents for leading financial institutions, including asset financing, leasing, and perfection of securities.

Gladys holds an LL.B (Hons) from Uganda Christian University, Mukono, a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Mechanics of Loan Documentation from Middlesex University. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society.
