Daniella M. Kagina

Daniella M. Kagina is a Legal Associate at MMAKS Advocates-ALN Uganda, with expertise in corporate governance, corporate and commercial advisory, company secretarial services, fintech, private equity, and data protection and privacy.

She has advised SN Power Uganda Limited and SCATEC ASA on the acquisition of a 100% stake by TotalEnergies Renewables SAS, advised the Office of the Auditor General on its audit of UMEME's operations, advised the East African Venture Capital Association (EAVCA) on proposed amendments to Uganda's legal and fiscal framework for locally domiciled private equity and venture capital funds, and advised Terra Payment Services on obtaining a payments system operator license and money remittance license from the Bank of Uganda. She routinely advises the three entities in the ICEA Group Uganda on company secretarial and compliance matters, and advises companies on optimal business structuring and regulatory compliance.

Daniella holds an LL.B (Hons) from Makerere University, Kampala and a First-Class Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Kampala. She received the Director's List Award for Outstanding Academic Performance in the Bar Course (2020/2021). She is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and all subordinate courts.
