Ernest K. Wiltshire

Ernest K. Wiltshire is Head of Employment and the Managing Partner at AF Mpanga Advocates, focusing on Employment Law. He advises, acts for and represents foreign missions, international and local non-governmental organisations, development agencies and large corporates.

He represents clients in litigation and arbitration matters and advises on matters of employment, retirement benefits, immigration, personal injury, product liability, tax and regulatory compliance.

Ernest teaches the law of evidence at Makerere University and is a former Vice President of the Uganda Law Society. Together with other members of the firm, he has been at the forefront of several ground-breaking public interest matters in the Uganda Constitutional Court that have advanced and clarified the scope of various rights in Uganda under its 1995 Constitutional dispensation.

He was described as “A stickler for detail who always provides well-researched and studied opinions” by Chambers & Partners (2006). Ernest holds an LLB (Hons) from Makerere University and an LLM from the University of Cambridge.
