Joanne Katende

Joanne Katende is a Senior Associate at the Firm with 10 years' experience handling Corporate & Commercial transactions. Her primary practice area is Employment Law, and her practice areas also include mergers & acquisitions, banking & finance and intellectual property.

She is adept at contract review, conducting due diligence exercises for domestic and international clients, handling real property transactions, and drafting credit facility documents for various international banks. With respect to intellectual property, she is engaged in the registration of trademarks, copyright, patents and industrial designs. She also carries out company secretarial services for several clients.

She is licensed to practise law both as an Advocate in Uganda and as an Attorney and Counsellor at Law in the State of New York. In 2017, she worked at Morse Barnes-Brown Pendleton in the USA.

She holds a Certification (Bar course) from the New York State Board of Law Examiners (2023), a Master of Laws (LL.M) from Northeastern University (2017), a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with Honours from Makerere University (2012) and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre (2014).
