Dorothy Kiiza

Dorothy Kiiza is a Senior Associate in the Corporate & Financial Advisory Team with over seven years of experience. Her primary practice area is Banking and Finance Law, specializing in corporate and commercial law.

She advises a broad range of clients — including financial institutions, multinationals, startups and high-net-worth individuals — on debt structuring, secured and unsecured lending, debt recovery, compliance, financial regulation and risk mitigation. She also provides regular counsel on corporate governance and regulatory compliance.

She is highly skilled in drafting and reviewing finance documentation, negotiating financing terms, and managing the registration and enforcement of securities under Ugandan law. She has extensive experience conducting legal due diligence for corporate and commercial transactions and regularly advises on mergers and acquisitions, including structuring, due diligence investigations, contract negotiation, regulatory filings and transaction implementation.

She has also supported local and international clients on regulatory, transactional and market-entry matters related to doing business in Uganda. Her practice further includes intellectual property law, particularly the registration and management of trade marks, industrial designs, patents and copyrights.

She is a member of the East African Law Society and the Uganda Law Society.
