Hezekiah M. Nsubuga

Hezekiah M. Nsubuga is a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution and Corporate Departments at AF Mpanga Advocates, and a qualified Advocate of the High Court of Uganda. His practice focuses on Fintech Law.

Hezekiah advises top-tier local and foreign clients, including financial service providers, asset managers, fund managers, payment system and service providers, fintech service providers, banking institutions, credit providers, credit bureaus and e-commerce platforms, regarding market entry, regulation, licensing, authorisation, approval and exemptions.

In addition, he advises on platform integration, digital lending, digital banking, crypto-assets and blockchain-related service offerings. He assists clients with ongoing compliance, regulatory enforcement matters, and with product structuring and marketing in compliance with the national payment system framework.

Hezekiah routinely advises several clients in respect of their data protection and privacy mandates, corporate advisory, corporate governance and key compliance matters. He also advises on estate planning and management mandates for high net-worth clients.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from Makerere University Kampala and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre. He is a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society.
